How does the ULEZ checker work?
Our ULEZ checker uses official DVLA data to determine your vehicle's compliance. When you enter your registration, we fetch your vehicle's actual fuel type, Euro emissions standard, and other details to provide an accurate result.
We compare your vehicle against the ULEZ requirements: Euro 4 for petrol (generally registered after January 2006) and Euro 6 for diesel (generally registered after September 2015). Electric and hydrogen vehicles are always compliant.
Real-time data: Results are based on official DVLA records, including your vehicle's actual Euro standard and fuel type.
What is London's ULEZ?
London's Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) was introduced by Transport for London (TfL) in 2019 to reduce air pollution by charging drivers of higher-polluting vehicles a daily fee.
The zone now covers all of Greater London up to the M25. Drivers of non-compliant vehicles are charged £12.50 per day with automatic fines for non-payment.

Which vehicles are ULEZ compliant?
Petrol Cars
- Must meet Euro 4 standard or better
- Generally registered after January 2006
Diesel Cars
- Must meet Euro 6 standard
- Generally registered after September 2015
Electric & Hybrid
- Pure electric vehicles always compliant
- Hybrids must meet petrol/diesel standards
Vans & Motorbikes
- Diesel vans: Euro 6 | Petrol vans: Euro 4
- Motorbikes must be Euro 3 compliant
ULEZ Scrappage Scheme
If your vehicle isn't compliant, you may qualify for TfL's scrappage scheme. London residents with non-compliant vehicles can receive:
£1,000
for scrapping a motorcycle or moped
£2,000
for scrapping a car

ULEZ Exemptions
Some vehicles are exempt from ULEZ charges regardless of their emissions status:
- Historic vehicles - Built before 1 January 1973 or with historic tax class
- Military vehicles - Vehicles operated by the Ministry of Defence
- Agricultural vehicles - Tractors, mowers, farm machinery, and construction equipment
- Disabled tax class - Vehicles registered under the disabled tax class
