Using Motorwise
Motorwise is a service that provides access to MOT test data and vehicle information from the Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) and Driver & Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA).
By using this service, you agree to these terms and conditions.
What you can use this service for
You can use Motorwise to:
- check the MOT history of vehicles
- view vehicle registration details
- access premium vehicle insights and analytics
What you cannot use this service for
You must not use Motorwise:
- for commercial purposes without appropriate licensing
- to access data you're not authorised to view
- in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the service
- to attempt to gain unauthorised access to any systems or data
Data accuracy and liability
The information provided is sourced from official government databases but we cannot guarantee its complete accuracy or currency.
You should verify important information through official channels before making decisions based on data from this service.
Service availability
We aim to keep Motorwise available 24 hours a day but cannot guarantee this. We may suspend the service for maintenance or updates.
Limitation of liability
While we take reasonable care to ensure the information provided through Motorwise is accurate, we do not accept liability for:
- any inaccuracies or omissions in the data sourced from government databases
- any loss or damage arising from your use of or reliance on information obtained through this service
- any loss arising from events beyond our reasonable control, including service interruptions
Our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of this service is limited to the amount you have paid to us for premium services in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Your statutory rights
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law, including rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of Motorwise will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If you are a UK consumer, you will benefit from any mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which you reside. Nothing in these terms affects your rights as a consumer to rely on such mandatory provisions of local law.
